Who Is LeCover?

It is I, Lawrence P. Mikeska.
The LeCover Company was started in 1987 shortly after working for Gotcha Covered in 1986 (aka, LaPlaca Music). LaPlaca Music found it necessary to downsize, giving me the opportunity to start LeCover Co. I expanded the then, solely, keyboard & synth cover business to include guitar, bass amp and pro audio covers. Twenty plus years later we have thousands of dimensions for live performance gear and proudly boast the best service and lowest prices in the industry.

Sidenote: Somewhere along the way, my friends nicknamed me "Larry LeCover"; I'll answer to either name.

My Background and Interest

My parents(Ed & Adriean) purchased an acoustic guitar when I was in grade school in 1966 where I learned the basics (thanks mom & dad). They hired Mr. Garcia who was a talented legit, spanish guitarist whom did teach me to read music, however, I lost interest in this aspect of the guitar as a "wet behind the ears", kid.

About this time I learned the saxophone in the school system and continued in the "concert" band curriculum through Jr High, but my life changed when I heard a "Big Band" jazz ensemble at the Notre Dame High School, Niles Il. Here I learned about Parker, Coltrane, Basie, Turrentine...I had a feel for improvisation and held the lead tenor spot in HS and throughout college.

In college I majored in music/business (Elmhurst College/Illinois) which was a new curriculum at the time. I had been playing gigs locally since 1976 and continued to do so after college and still accept gigs today.

I married my wife Nancy in 1983 and we are celebrating our 29th anniversary in January (2012).

I had meet and developed a friendship with grammy award winning, world class saxophonist, Pete Christlieb. (early 80's). Pete is from Los Angeles and has been entrenched in the studios since the '60's. He is most known from the Tonight Show w/Johnny Carson, and has commercial success with Steely Dan (Deacon Blues), Natalie Cole, lots more...). Pete had started his own record label (Boscoe Records) and hired me to manage his label in the Chicago metro area. It was a great learning experience; we are still friends today.

In addition to music I'm an avid golfer and video hobbyist. See my youtube channels:
